the mission
Inviting God’s Word to the forefront of every willing heart.
The phone rings at 2 a.m.
Some people know who to call: an intercessor, someone who stands in the gap for them in prayer. A diagnosis. A marriage unraveling. A night that feels impossible to face alone.
Not everyone has that.
Our founders kept thinking about the hours they couldn’t answer, the people with no one to call, and those who weren’t ready to share what they were going through. They remembered prayer lines where a flood of voices took up the same burden, one after another, until it felt held. Those memories, and that concern, became the starting point for The Hem.
We built The Hem to help people hear God’s Word and turn toward Him when their own words are hard to find.
God and His Word are one. No matter where it’s read, the Holy Spirit can move and change the course of a human experience.
We are a team of Christians who understand the power of prayer. Some of us think in words; others in code or design. We ask questions, challenge one another, and keep returning in faith, representing Jesus Christ in culture.
God’s Word is living and powerful, as potent today as it has ever been (Hebrews 4:12; Isaiah 40:8).
Jesus Christ is our Savior (Acts 4:12). The Holy Spirit is our Helper (John 14:26), and the Spirit Himself intercedes for us when we do not know how to pray (Romans 8:26).
Prayer is powerful and available to anyone, especially the brokenhearted and seemingly alone. The Hem supports your prayer life. We trust the Holy Spirit to meet you, wherever you are.
