Voice Consent

Your voice and consent

The Hem can read your prayers in an AI version of your voice. Voice Cloning is optional and available only to adults 18 or older. We need your written consent before collecting Voice Data. If you decline, the rest of The Hem works as usual.

What we collect

• A recording of you speaking (a longer sample and a short reference clip).
• A short recording of you reading a consent sentence aloud.
• A personal AI voice model and voice identifier created from your recordings. Some laws may treat these as a voiceprint or biometric identifier.
• A record of this consent: the version you agreed to, the date and time, your app version, IP address, and device information.

Together, the recordings, model, and identifier are your "Voice Data."

Why we collect it

To create and host your personal voice model and read your prayers aloud. Only you can use this model. We keep the consent record as confirmation.

Who handles it

HemApp OpCo LLC ("The Hem") and our voice provider process Voice Data to create and host your Cloned Voice within our Privacy Policy's limits. Processing and storage may occur outside the United States. Request the provider's name at legal@touchthehem.com.

How long we keep it

We and our voice provider permanently delete your Voice Data at the earliest of these deadlines:

• within 30 days after you delete your Cloned Voice in Settings, delete your account, or withdraw consent;
• within 30 days after its purpose ends, including when Voice Cloning or your access ends;
• after 12 months without using your Cloned Voice; and
• no later than 3 years after your last interaction with The Hem, or sooner if legally required.

These deadlines apply to provider copies. Backups follow Section 11 of our Privacy Policy, subject to any shorter legal deadline. We keep your consent record, without recordings or voiceprints, for 5 years after deleting Voice Data. See Section 7 of our Privacy Policy.

What we will never do

• Sell, rent, trade, or profit from your Voice Data.
• Use it to train or improve other AI models.
• Use it for advertising or unrelated purposes.
• Use it to identify you or to verify who you are.
• Disclose it except as our Privacy Policy permits.

Your control

You can withdraw consent anytime in Settings > Voice > Delete my voice, or email support@touchthehem.com. Deletion follows Sections 7.5 and 11 of our Privacy Policy.

Your confirmation

• I am 18 or older.
• The voice I am about to record is my own. I am not recording or imitating anyone else.
• I have read this Voice Consent and Privacy Policy Section 7. I consent to The Hem and its voice provider collecting, storing, and using my Voice Data as described here.

Spoken confirmation

After you sign, The Hem asks you to read this sentence aloud:

"My name is [first name]. This is my own voice. I consent to The Hem creating an AI voice model to read my prayers."
